HUBZone is a United States Small Business Administration program for small companies that operate and employ people in Historically Under-utilized Business Zones.The Historically Underutilized Business Zones (HUBZone) program helps small businesses in urban and rural communities gain preferential access to federal procurement opportunities. These preferences go to small businesses that obtain HUBZone certification in part by employing staff who live in a HUBZone.  In FY2019, the federal government awarded $11.5 billion to HUBZone-certified businesses.
